Of particular importance to Shadowfax are the very close relationships with a select group of growers who provide harvests of the most intensely flavoured fruit. A prolific trophy winner, Shadowfax are a refreshing new wave, vigorously fruit driven, livelier than her Victorian siblings, characterised by slatey, flavoursome acidity, a touch of lees complexity and judicious dryness. The marvelous S1 block is a sheltered, relatively warm site within the splendid vistas of Seaview Vineyard, on a north facing plateau at 160m above sea level, refreshed by maritime winds that blow in from the Cludy Bay coast. Fruit is crushed and destemmed, chilled and gently pressed, the clearest juices are racked off for a long, cool ferment to capture the full opulence of S1 vineyard grapes on the vine. Yealands Estate»
The uncompromising pursuit of excellence brings the Yealands team to the extreme viticultural climes of Gibbston Valley in Central Otago. It is here under the frigid cloudless night skies that Pinot Noir vines, planted to undulating granite schist soils, struggle to yield harvests of parched grapes, redolent with cherry berry perfumes, bursting with an intensity of flavour and wrapped in a muslin of seamless, velvet tannins. Yealands Estate»
Sourced from Neil Steven's Glenoak property at Pokolbin, a scenically undulating site that's planted to a combination of light sand and red clay soils, widely regarded as one of the finest white wine vineyards in Hunter Valley. The oldest block was established circa 1911, the youngest plantings date back to 1965. Tyrrells»

Given the scarcity of Best's prestige, limited release, old vineyard icons, Bin #1 affords enthusiasts their first taste of the Great Western Shiraz style and leaves them eager to discover more. A classic, cool climate, aromatic wine, floral and spicy, peppery and elegant, retaining vital Great Western fruit character. Bests»
The top cut, off a mere four hectares Pinot Noir, eighteen different rootstock and clone, all picked by hand and separately fermented. Parcels are treated to minimalist vinification and the extravagance of a Vaslin Bucher basket press, followed by a year in the finest French oak barriques and three years cellaring before release. Pressing Matters»
From parcels of Pinot Noir, planted to the foot of tailings, left behind by waves of prospectors who pursued their fortune amongst the open pits and mines on Adelaide Hills during the gold rush of the 1850s. Crushed and destemmed straight into the press with minimal time on skins to extract the perfect pink, its blushing lipstick hues presage a cornucopia of lifted strawberry and cherry blossom characters, ruby grapefruit and luscious jube over a length of tasty, toothsome tannins, the perfect Rosé for lazy afternoons or late night soirées. Shiraz by Kangarilla Road of McLaren Vale. A redolent Shiraz wine with an abundance of soft tannins that's drinking beautifully. http://www.kangarillaroad.com.au/ - Kangarilla Road - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines
Established by Helen and Kevin O'Brien in 1997, Kangarilla Road Vineyard and Winery is based in McLaren Vale South Australia

McLaren Vale is less than an hours drive from the city of Adelaide. The region is defined by some lovely beaches on the western boundary and by low lying hills to the east. McLaren Vale is the best region in Australia to achieve the wine styles that Kangarilla Road does well. The long, dry growing season can often become indian summers, translating into Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay fruit of aromas and flavours and balanced nicely in the reds with soft approachable tannins. In addition, the Kangarilla Road winemaking team are playing around with some new varieties to the district, namely Zinfandel and Viognier and we are very excited about the quality of these wines to date.

http://www.kangarillaroad.com.au/ - Kangarilla Road - Tasting Notes On Australian & New Zealand wines

Kangarilla Road is the main road running past the vineyard towards the small village of Kangarilla, the name is a derivation of the Australian Aboriginal language and refers to the abundance of resources locally. The vineyard and winery - which was originally established back in 1975 - offers thirty acres of mature vines that contribute rich fruit characters so typical of McLaren Vale.

Kevin O'Brien is an oenologist with twenty years experience in the wine industry. Helen O'Brien brings flair to Kangarilla Road and has extensive experience in the public relations, promotions and fashion industries. The estate philosophy is really quite simple - to produce wines that the winemaking team themselves can enjoy drinking - wines to savour with food and friends.
